  • Individual executive and/or entrepreneur who has achieved accomplishments of significance over their entire careers.
  • This award honors a woman business owner who over the course of her distinguished career has made a significant impact on the advancement of professional women. Through her personal integrity and commitment to excellence she has risen through the ranks and served as a role model for future generations.
  • Committed to making Santa Barbara a better place to work and live for other women business owners.

Woman Business Owner of the Year

  • Recognized as a successful Entrepreneur whose achievements are outstanding.
  • Must be in business for a minimum of 2 years.
  • An outstanding role model for other women to emulate, exhibiting the qualities of integrity, perseverance and the ability to overcome obstacles.

Entrepreneur to Watch

  • Has and operated a current successful business for no more than 5 years.
  • Demonstrates the potential for long-term success and growth of her business.

Philanthropic Champion

  • Demonstrates leadership as an advocate for the betterment of the community.
  • Brings people together and facilitates collaboration between others to achieve goals.
  • Exhibits integrity in and unwavering commitment to community advocate.

Public Policy Leader of the Year

  • Someone who has identified, designed and implemented changes to public policy that has impacted regulations or policies for the betterment of society.
  • Their sustained efforts and exceptional contributions have fostered research, education and influence to help women business owners gain a larger voice in public policy.
  • Must be a non-elected official.

Education Advocate of the Year

  • Consistently strives to improve education opportunities and programs.
  • Is committed to the advancement and development of student leaders and motivates students and educators to be their best.

Rising Star of the Year

  • Our Rising Star of the year award recognizes women 21 years or younger who are stepping up to help shape the Santa Barbara business world of tomorrow. Young entrepreneurs look at the world in new ways, transforming the way traditional industries operate in the process.
  • This individual has demonstrated a strong commitment towards pursuing her dreams and exhibits entrepreneurial skills with high moral and ethical standards.
  • Must demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, leadership, citizenship and service and contribute to school and community.
  • A young woman who inspires others through volunteer service that displays her initiative, passion and positive spirit.
